At Carleton St Hilda’s, we believe Geography should inspire children to be curious, informed and passionate about the world around them. Through engaging lessons, meaningful fieldwork and real-world experiences, we encourage pupils to explore their local environment whilst developing an understanding of the wider world and their place within it.

Our Geography curriculum is designed to broaden horizons and spark curiosity about places, people and environments beyond children’s everyday experiences. From exploring continents, climates and natural wonders to investigating diverse cultures, settlements and landscapes, pupils develop an appreciation of the richness and diversity of our planet. We aim to make learning memorable, relevant and exciting, helping children to ask questions, think critically and develop a lifelong interest in Geography.

As pupils progress through school, they investigate increasingly complex geographical issues such as sustainability, resource management, climate change and global interdependence. Through these studies, we nurture informed, responsible citizens who understand the challenges facing our world and feel empowered to make a positive difference. By combining classroom learning with practical fieldwork opportunities, we equip children with the knowledge, skills and enthusiasm needed to understand and care for the world they inherit.
