What is Forest School?

St Hilda’s Forest School is a unique method of outdoor education that allows our children to develop confidence, independence, builds self-esteem whilst acquiring knowledge through hands on experience in a natural setting.  The Forest School will encourage holistic learning through child centred play and exploration, taking risks and using their initiative to solve problems and work alongside each other.  Our Christian values and Christian calendar will be at the core of our outdoor learning experiences. Throughout the year all of our children will have the opportunity to learn within the Forest School environment.
